Overhead Day

Got a cortisone shot in my left shoulder yesterday to help with the inflammation. I've literally tried everything from rest, ice, stretches, NSAIDs, mobility work, to different exercises and this seems to be the only thing that helps albeit my last injection was 2 years ago. I did graduate to needing a larger needle, as my shoulder girth was too thick for the standard needle to penetrate deep enough. So they had to find a bigger/longer needle and used one typically needed for cattle and oxen. 🐮😆

Gym Temp: 85 °
Music: Fit for a King, Death Grip

Warm up w/ Kettlebell Halos/Presses & Hammer Winds.

Circus Dumbbell Overhead Press (clean w/ two arms, press w/ one, I only did right arm work to allow the cortisone to work its magic)
70 x 5
85 x 3
105 x 2
115 x 1
125 x 1
135 x 1
140 x 1
110 x 8 then immediately 70 x 5 strict.
I did do some light mini-band presses w/ my left arm between sets of right arm work, just to get a little direct movement in.

Skull-crushers (lying on the floor, using 35 lbs. plates to a dead-stop on the floor)
115 x 6, 6, 6 - just that little bit of static shoulder work caused some grinding in my left shoulder so I stopped at 3 sets instead of 5.)

Negative Chins (very limited range of motion to get biceps working again)
4 sets of 2 reps

Barbell Rows
135 x 10
185 x 10
225 x 8
275 x 6
225 x 12

Pulldowns
200 x 10
220 x 8
240 x 5

Sledge Swings
8 lbs. hammer x 1 minute x 2 sets - using a light hammer to try and loosen up my shoulder.

All in all a good day, no pain in biceps so I'm slowly introducing more and more weight. My shoulder feels great as well, but I'm going to be careful with it the next few weeks and let the meds to their thing.
